Hats for summer time? Yep! Actually, I wear hats almost all year round. You should too! It’s such a great accessory to pull a look together, keep the sun out of your eyes and you don’t have to do anything to your hair. Those 3 reasons alone should get you finding a hat in your closet or buying a new hat. Straw hats are another favorite of mine. They’re light weight and look more summer time fun! Imagine wearing your summer dress, with the perfect little handbag and/or clutch and your summer hat. Yes! You look good, girlfriend! I linked some of my favorites above so don’t forget to check them out before you leave. You’re welcome. : )
So as you can see my hat and Tory Burch handbag were the pop color for this outfit. You probably wouldn’t think black is a pop of color but when the rest of the outfit is light and neutral; black really pops. Style tip: if you’re going to do any pop of colors make sure you don’t exceed a 2 item limit. If I wore black shoes I wouldn’t have a pop of color and my look wouldn’t be as interesting. Maybe I should post an Instagram photo and you guys can decide which look is better. 🙂
As for the rest of my look, I love these 7 for all Mankind jeans! They’re incredibly comfortable and I have to say I usually never pay full retail price for jeans but when I put them on, they were so soft and comfortable. They’re worth it because I literally wear them all the time! They were the only jeans I brought with me to Vancouver B.C last week and my friends, you’ll continue see these jeans on social media till I find my next favorite jeans.
To go with these awesome jeans I wore my silky and flowy Topshop cami that I have in multiple colors. 🙂 It’s one of those essential pieces that will look cute with anything. I chose this Free People jacket to give my look some structure and blinged it up with my Valentinos.
Okay, I have I confession to make! Do you really want to know why I like wearing hats? The answer is I’m lazy! LOL. Juggling being a badass wifey, cool/disciplinary mom, rock-star tech recruiter, and blogger is ALOT! There are days I think I’m slightly nuts from putting so much on my plate. But I’m definitely one of those people who thrives under pressure. Already there are times I question if I can continue to create content, learn how to monetize my blog, learn how to take better photos, edit photos, be social on Instagram, and grow my following. There’s so much to blogging I never knew and it’s been so fun learning all the back-end things but it’s incredibly time-consuming. I kid you not but I go to bed after midnight most days and my baby wakes up between 5:00-6:00 am WTH!?!??! WHY?!?!? If he wakes up at 6:00 am that must be a lucky day! LOL. Anyways I thought I share some of my first world challenges because behind these blog photos and Instagram photos there’s a woman who’s hustling. But she hustles for things she’s passionate about. What are you passionate about and what are you doing about it?
